• Scholarships to be awarded by TDS and Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation

Attention Wisconsin high school seniors: TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) and other Wisconsin communications companies are now accepting applications for the annual Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation (WSTF) scholarship. In 2024, the Foundation received 103 applications and awarded a total of $44,250 to 32 deserving high school seniors seeking higher education.

“Every year, TDS is proud to support the aspirations of high school seniors across the state of Wisconsin as they embark on their higher education journeys,” said Angie Dickison, TDS State Government Affairs Manager. “Through the WSTF scholarship program, we aim to alleviate the financial burden of college for young adults in the communities we are honored to serve.”

Interested high school seniors can apply online and review eligibility requirements at the WSTF Scholarship website. Applications must be electronically submitted by Monday, Feb. 17 at 10:59 p.m. Applications must include a headshot, high school transcripts, a 500 word essay, and a letter of recommendation.

If selected, candidates will be eligible to receive a one-time $1,500 scholarship or a one-time $1,000 scholarship (if attending a two-year technical college) from the WSTF.

The WSTF panel reviews all submitted applications. Finalists will be selected based on factors including grades, academic achievements, and extra-curricular activities. Scholarships will be presented during the recipients’ high school graduation ceremonies or awards night programs.

Since 1966, the WSTF has awarded over $1.8 million in scholarships to nearly 1,450 students. The Foundation is part of the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association (WSTA), a trade organization representing more than 65 Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (including TDS).
