The Foundation Sci Fi & Fantasy Book Discussion
Welcome to the Stoughton Public Library’s science fiction & fantasy book group. We’ve named this group "The Foundation" in honor of science fiction grand master Isaac Asimov and his famous Foundation Trilogy. Copies of the selected books are available on the second floor of the library. We meet at the library on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm.
January 3: Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke
Completed and published in 1953, this became Clarke's first successful novel. Additional reading will be Clarke’s short story “The Sentinel.”February 7: Mars is Ours (stories of the "Red Planet"): meeting at Paco's Tacos this month (135 W. Main Street)

Climate Fiction is literature that deals with climate change and global warming. Stories may take place in the world as we know it or in the near future. The term "cli-fi" came into use in the late 2000s to describe tales that deal with man-made climate change. There are also many works that deal with climate change as a natural disaster.
