Sons of Norway Navy Veteran Program Join Sons of Norway- Mandt Lodge on Wednesday, May 11, at 7:00 PM for our program meeting. The lodge is located at 317 South Page Street in Stoughton, WI. Our program will feature three Mandt Lodge Navy Veterans as they share their military experiences! Denny Behr- “Farm Boy to Sub Hunter - Navy Years”- Retired Naval Aircrewmen, Denny Behr will share his unique transitioning from a Midwest tractor driving farm boy to a Cold War Russian submarine hunter. He’ll highlight airborne mission experiences from being catapulted off the deck of Anti-Submarine Warfare aircraft carrier, USS Wasp (CVS-18) to humorous and heart-warming reflections of how it all came about. Greg Haugen served for 28 years in the Navy Medical Service Corps and followed that with 6 years as a civilian in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Greg will share about his three tours on the staff of the Navy Surgeon General and two tours in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, commanding a clinic at the Naval Support Activity in Millington, TN and serve as the chief financial officer for the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. He will also share stories about the Pentagon, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and Walter Reed Army Medical Center which all have interesting histories. There is parking on the street, public parking lot behind the Stoughton Senior Center, or in the Livsreise parking lot if their building is closed.
