Join Sons of Norway- Mandt Lodge on Wednesday, November 14 as they host the movie Kaskeland. The lodge is located at 317 South Page Street, Stoughton and the program will begin at 7:00 PM. The Koshkonong prairie is comprised of Pleasant Springs and Christiana townships, as well as parts of Cottage Grove, Deerfield, Oakland, Albion, and Dunkirk townships. The first pioneer Norwegian settlers arrived in 1840, and by 1850 over half of the Norwegian immigrants in Wisconsin lived on the Koshkonong prairie. Eventually, Koshkonong became the largest Norwegian-American settlement in North America. "Kaskeland" documents many historically significant sites found on the Koshkonong Prairie and the experiences of those first Norwegian immigrants. There is parking on the street, public parking lot behind the Stoughton Senior Center, or in the Livsreise parking lot if their building is closed.
