"Queen Without Land"
This 2018 film is the true story of the meeting between Frost, a beautiful polar bear mother, and Asgeir Helgestad, a Norwegian wildlife filmmaker. It is a four-year journey in Svalbard. Rising temperatures are responsible for dramatic changes in Frost's ecosystem as the ice is melting at record speed. This film explores the question, "This planet is home to all of us, can we afford to ignore it?* This film is being shown thanks to the Norwegian Film Institute with assistance from the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C. *Reservations are required and can be made by calling 608-873-7567 during our business hours of 9:30AM to 4:30 PM Tuesday through Saturday.
