NEW Fitness Class: Classical Stretch-Aging Backwards
NEW Fitness Class: Classical Stretch-Aging Backwards Thursdays Starting February 7 $10 for the 4 week series Join us for an exercise program that's new to the Stoughton Senior Center, but has been popular with PBS viewers and in-person practitioners since 1999. Miranda Esmonde-White, the creator of Classical Stretch, says, "the human body is designed to remain pain-free, energetic and healthy throughout its lifespan." Following video instruction and performed while standing and laying on a yoga mat, class members may see the following benefits: Soothed joints, increased energy, pain relief, enhanced balance, improved mobility and stronger bones. Who doesn't want that? Lily Postel, Volunteer, has been doing Classical Stretch for more than 5 years and will lead this class. You will need to bring a yoga mat and a water bottle. The following items are optional and completely up to you: exercise donut cushion, exercise foam brick, and resistance bands. While all may benefit, the movements may be challenging for some, especially when first starting the program. Please check with your physician if you are unsure about your participation in this class. This four-week session will begin on Thursday, February 7 from 11 AM to Noon. This class is limited to 10 participants so call 873-8585 to reserve your spot early!
