May 17 is Norway’s Constitution Day and the national day of Norway and is an official public holiday observed on the 17th of May each year. Among Norwegians, the day is simply stated as Syttende Mai (meaning “Seventeenth of May, Nasjonaldagen (“National Day”) or Grunnlovsdagen (“Constitution Day”), although the latter is used less frequently. Do you think you know everything there is to know about Syttende Mai?, (i.e. Norwegian Constitution Day) So did our speaker, Ruth Paulson!
