Commission on Aging
Commission on Aging Meeting Highlights for April 9, 2019 Director Comments: ? We’re still in the process of filling the Volunteer/Program Coordinator position, and negotiating its budget request to the City. Having this position funded by the Bryant Foundation for the past five years has allowed us to increase and diversify our programming by leaps and bounds. Currently, our remaining staff has not had the time to schedule any news programming aside from what Charlene booked in advance before she left. ? Cindy is finalizing staff’s annual employee evaluations; we have a new City process. ? City Council is looking into changing time limits for the Center’s parking lot and spaces. ? Distributed the Center’s quarterly budget. ? Discussion of Spring Gala event. See front. Strategic Planning (SP): ? From the NCOA Accreditation feedback, we have added to the Strategic Plan the goal of “implementing a secure electronic system for filing case management files.” ? Reminder to Committees to review the SP and be mindful of documenting and sharing your progress for Hollee to note in the plan. Committees: no meetings to report on Legislative Update: ? Currently there is no concrete news concerning the City, State or County budgets. ? Discussed the countywide issues with lack of mental health services; it is expected to be addressed in the county budget in some way. Next meeting: May 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM Stoughton Area Senior Center 248 W Main St. Stoughton Meetings are Open to the Public See the City website for full meeting minutes
