• Emergency Department Technician

    Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for an Emergency Department Technician to join our Emergency Services team on a Full-Time basis.
    The ED Tech is responsible for administering direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The ED Tech responds to the clinical and service needs of patients and their families. They perform patient age-specific physical, psychological and social data collections, shares abnormal data with RN, MD or PA and performs duties in relation to data collection as directed by RN, MD or PA. This position also performs general clerical duties in the smooth operation of Emergency department.

    Essential Functions:

    • Accurately Obtain patient vitals
    • Monitor patient equipment and report needs appropriately
    • Adheres to infection prevention and risk management programs.
    • Orders and stocks needed supplies and performs routine cleaning tasks.
    • Good communication with Emergency Room staff
       
    • Position Requirements:
    • Required: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant training program, Certified Medical Assistant program or EMT-1 Training course.
    • Professional Experience: Requires previous experience in a healthcare setting. Prefer prior experience in a hospital setting.
    • Licensure: Licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or EMT-1
    • Required Certification: Current BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training- every two years on a rolling calendar basis.
    • Special Requirements: EKG training, Phlebotomy
    • Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position. Access email, reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements.
    • Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills – Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter.

    Work Shift:

    • Full-Time, .75 FTE
    • 30 hours per week
    • Scheduled Days: Variable Days
    • Scheduled Shift: Weekdays 11:00 am – 11:00 pm, Weekends 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
    • Every 4th Weekend
    • Every 3rd Holiday
