Highlights of this free event will include: a ribbon-cutting by the Stoughton Chamber, Mayor Swadley proclaiming the day “Viking Day”, performances by the Stoughton High School Band and the Stoughton High School a cappella groups Divine and Dive-in, Stoughton Dance Team performance, and additional music by the band “Blue Smoothies”. The “State Champion” lacrosse team will receive their well-deserved trophy. In addition, we will have a brief presentation to thank Keith and Tammy Anderson and Bob Wahlin, President of Stoughton Trailers for leading these efforts.
We will a have a special “THANK YOU”" photo area for those who have contributed to this project. All individuals, families, groups, and businesses are asked to participate.
Younger Vikings can get a feel for playing on the new field at the “Pass-Punt-and Kick” competition for youth football players and a “Shot to The Goal” contest for youth soccer players.
There will be a SHS Choir 50/50 raffle and candy sales, and tours of the press box will be given by the SHS Key Club. Students will also have booths showcasing the various groups in our high school.
No event is complete without great food. The Stoughton Sports Boosters will be selling brats and pulled pork sandwiches and sides as well (cash only). The money raised at this event will help us fund Stoughton’s athletic programs and our scholarships.
But this celebration is also about Stoughton’s future. This new complex allows Stoughton to expand the number of events that can happen on the field. WIAA play-off games, regional band competitions, additional sporting events and even future community and music events can now happen at the Anderson Complex.
