“DOOR COUNTY’S EAGLE BLUFF LIGHTHOUSE” WITH CHUCK BAUM November 4 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm FREE Perched on a bluff 76 feet above Green Bay’s glistening waters, Eagle Bluff Lighthouse’s lamp brought solace to many sea captains and sailors. Today the tradition of the lighthouse continues. Restored to its past glory, by the Door County Historical Society, Chuck Baum will tell its story, including the time from 1868 to 1883, when Norwegian immigrant Henry Stanley, held the post of lighthouse keeper at Eagle Bluff lighthouse. In September1883, he and his wife Katherine, were transferred to the Sherwood Point lighthouse, also in Door County where he served until his death in 1895. (photo and text courtesy of Door County Historical Society) Chuck Baum is a volunteer with the Door County Historical Society and has developed the docent program for this historic lighthouse. He and his wife have been coming to Door County to vacation for several years and are now full-time residents there. Live Presentation
