NATIONAL NOVEL WRITING MONTH KICKOFF

Have you always wanted to write a novel? Or do you have a new project you’re itching to work on? Why not make it official—join thousands of people across the world and challenge yourself to complete a 50,000-word manuscript during the month of November. From 10-11am we’ll talk about the best way to get your manuscript written during this 30-day challenge. Feel free to bring a bag lunch, then spend the afternoon writing to jump-start your NaNoWriMo experience. Enjoy a free cup of coffee, tea or cider. For adults as well as teens in grades 6 or above. No registration required.

THREE GAITS "A NIGHT TO SHINE"

"A Night to Shine": An elegant and entertaining event to celebrate our riders (people with disabilities & special needs). What better way to celebrate than an evening of fine wine, hors d'oeuvres, carriage rides around The Legend at Bergamont Golf Course, followed by dinner and dessert. A silent auction will also be part of the event, offering opportunities to bid on lovely items that have been donated by local business and friends of Three Gaits. All proceeds will directly benefits our riders.

SONS OF NORWAY-"NORWAY- A PARADISE FOR WOMEN?"

Sons of Norway Program- Norway: A Paradise for Women? Sons of Norway Mandt Lodge will host Peggy Hager of the UW-Madison Scandinavian Studies Program for a lecture on Wednesday, November 12. The lodge is located at 317 South Page Street, in Stoughton. There is a Cookbook Supper at 5:30 and Program at 7:00 PM. Cookbook supper at 5:30 - prepared by Mandt Lodge members using recipes from the SN Mandt Lodge cookbook. Free will offering. If you can, RSVP by November 10 to Darlene Arneson (873-7209). In this presentation we will look briefly at how women won the right to vote and then focus on the situation for women in Norway today. Norway is today considered one of the most gender equal countries in the world. We will look at some of the policies that have helped Norway achieve high gender equality. We are handicapped accessible with a lift located on the south side of the building. The public is always welcome at Mandt Lodge!

SPAGHETTI DINNER FUNDRAISER FOR SHS BAND

The Stoughton High School Band Boosters with the American Legion are hosting a Spaghetti Dinner on Thursday, November20th, from 5:30-8 pm at the Otis Sampson American Legion Post 59 on N. Page Street, Stoughton. Dinner will include spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread and desserts. SHS band students will provide musical entertainment. Tickets are sold at the door: $8 for adults (13 and up), $6 for children (5-12), and kids under 5 eat for free. Proceeds support the Stoughton HS Band program. Come enjoy a delicious dinner and spectacular music for a great cause!
