SONS OF NORWAY NORSK COOKIE BAKING CLASS
9am- 12noon
Sons of Norway- Mandt Lodge will hold a Norwegian Cookie Baking Class on Saturday, December 6, from 9:00am-12noon at 317 S. Page Street, Stoughton. The cost is $25 per class and $10 for youth ages 12 and under. Mandt Lodge members will share recipes and techniques for making five types of Norwegian cookies including pizzelles, rosettes, krumkake, sandbakkles, spritz and kransekake (Norwegian wedding cake). You will learn how to mix, prepare, and bake/fry the cookies. Of course, sampling your work is encouraged and cookies will be sent home with participants. The public is invited to a Free Health Screening and Diabetes Education Sponsored by Shalom Free Health Clinic and Stoughton Public Library Health screening will include: · General health survey · Blood pressure and pulse · Blood oxygen level · Height, weight and Body Mass Index (BMI) · Registered Nurses provide individualized health assessment · Shalom volunteers will be available to offer assistance and help complete applications to Shalom Free Health Clinic, as appropriate. Diabetes Nurse will be available to answer questions Shalom is Stoughton’s Free Health Care Clinic offering free healthcare to area adults with low income, no insurance or high insurance deductibles. Shalom patients have access to a full range of services to improve their overall health and well-being: body, mind and spirit. This event is open to the public.

SHS WINTER BAND CONCERT

On Thursday, December 11th the Stoughton HS Concert and Symphonic Band will be performing their annual Winter Concert, which is free and open to all ages! The concert begins at 7:00 PM in the SHS Performing Arts Center. The evening will include performances of Daehn’s Adagio for Winds, Balmages’ Falcon Fanfare, and Sweeney’s Lament & Tribal Dances by Concert Band, and Grainger’s Colonial Song and Holst’s First Suite in E Flat by Symphonic Band. The concert will conclude with the combined Symphonic and Concert Band performance of Robert W. Smith’s In the Bleak Midwinter. Please join us for this wonderful night of music and in support of the talented music students of Stoughton.

Sons of Norway Mandt Lodge presents " The Lutefisk Dinner at the 5th Mandt Lutheran Church “ for their Christmas program on Thursday, December 11, at 7:00 PM. The event will be at Mandt Lodge located at 317 S. Page Street in Stoughton. The annual Mandt Lodge Christmas program has have rallied the troops, and they have responded with a show that we think you all will enjoy, as we spoof our Norwegian relatives in our production. Join us for an evening of good fun with skits and music that will bring back memories of the old lutefisk suppers, followed by refreshments. There is no charge, and everyone is welcome, whether you are a Sons of Norway member or not. Light refreshments will be served. Please consider bringing items for the Stoughton Food Pantry- non perishable foods, personal hygiene, or school supplies.
